The second belt to the "American Indian" (also known as the "Memphis Indian" or "Indian Feather") suit. Elvis wore the suit from the Spring of 1975 through the Spring of 1977, and this belt was worn from around October 1976 through the Spring of 1977

Original long Aloha cape for sale January 1  2011

The original LONG cape made for Elvis's Aloha TV show, is for sale once again. From ebay: "In terms of authentic iconic Elvis items, it does not get much better than this! This is THE ORIGINAL cape which was made for Elvis to wear for the legendary "Aloha from Hawaii" Concert in January, 1973. This cape was designed by Elvis' designer Bill Belew so that when Elvis came on stage, he could be "hidden" behind the long cape. The idea was that Elvis would appear on stage for this world-first event, behind the cape and at the end of the Space Oddysey, he would drop the cape and turn to face the audience, revealing himself to the waiting crowd.

When Bill Belew arrive in Hawaii with this magnificent 5 foot long cape, Elvis tried it on and almost tumbled over backward as he tried to walk. It was decided that for the concert itself, a shorter version of this design should be used. Bill Belew then had only 24 hours to make a new cape. This cape was then sent back to Graceland and remained there, in its archives until the charity auction held in 1999. This cape represents not only the single most significant live performance ever by Elvis, but also the ultimate in authenticity and provenance. I purchased this cape from the successful bidder at the Graceland Archives auction, so in effect, I am only its 3rd owner ever! You could be it's 4th!

As most people know, this cape and it's design are significant (not only because of it's place in history) but also because the design of the eagle and the colours were to represent Elvis' passion and patriotism for his own country."

Asking price is 250,000.00 $AU or 255,000.00 $US

'Elvis and Ali' their story in photos:

Two of the US’s most well-known icons - “the King of Rock ’n’ Roll” and “the Greatest” - meet at the James A. Michener Art Museum beginning this Saturday and running through May 15. They will be spotlighted in “Ali and Elvis: American Icons,” featuring two photography exhibitions: the Smithsonian’s “Elvis at 21” and art2art’s “Muhammad Ali: The Making of an Icon.”
With “Elvis at 21” freelance photojournalist Alfred Wertheimer was hired by RCA Victor in 1956 to shoot promotional images of recently signed 21-year-old recording artist Elvis Presley. Wertheimer’s instincts were to “tag along” with the artist after the assignment and the resulting images provide us with a look at Elvis before he exploded onto the scene and became one of the most exciting performers of his time.
Wertheimer had unparalleled access and documented Elvis on the road, backstage, in concert, in the recording studio and at home in Memphis, Tenn. “Colonel” Tom Parker, Elvis’ manager, restricted contact just a short time later.

“Muhammad Ali: The Making of an Icon” chronicles the life and times of the now-iconic figure who was simultaneously the most beloved and most reviled man in boxing and who still engenders a strong emotional response from people almost 50 years after his initial rise to public prominence. The exhibit, organized by art2art, provides a glimpse of rarely seen moments of his personal life as well as more famous episodes from his career. These images not only illustrate the enormous changes that he went through — from a patriotic Olympic champion to a draft-resisting member of the Nation of Islam to a figure of racial reconciliation — but also show that Ali’s gregarious, funny and likable personality remained intact even as a super-charged political atmosphere swirled around him.
Ali’s story is one of an American hero who has come full circle in the hearts and minds of people throughout the world, and features more than 50 photographs by such distinguished photographers as Annie Leibovitz, Gordon Parks and Art Shay that capture Ali’s positive public image.
The James A. Michener Art Museum is located at 138 S. Pine St., Doylestown. Museum hours: Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, noon-5 p.m.
